The group also studies determinants of cardiometabolic risk in teenagers with obesity. Research studies from this group have led to the development of innovative therapeutic approaches to treat low bone density and optimize bone accrual in teenagers with anorexia nervosa. Ongoing studies are examining the impact of estrogen replacement strategies on bone density and structure in athletes with amenorrhea, and exploring the bone-fat connection.
