Clinical Investigation in Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease

Our research focuses on understanding the pathogenesis of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

Dr. Corey's research focuses on lipid metabolism in patients with steatosis and steatohepatitis as well as the development of non-invasive biomarkers for the diagnosis and monitoring of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Dr. Corey also studies the interaction between obstructive sleep apnea and fatty liver disease. In addition, Dr. Corey participates in numerous clinical trials including studies for hepatitis B and C treatment and post-transplant prevention of hepatitis C infection.

  • Evaluation of the prevalence of obstructive sleep apnea in patients with NAFLD
  • Understanding lipid oxidation and metabolism in NAFLD
  • Study of outcomes in adolescents undergoing weight loss surgery
  • Cardiovascular risk and NAFLD
