The Institute for Health Policy (IHP) is dedicated to conducting world-class research on the leading health issues.

Overview

The following projects are related to cancer-related disparities:

  • A project that will depict disparities in the quality of care in hospitals using newly available patient-level data collected through the Hospital Quality Alliance (HQA) on smoking prevention. Project staff will examine the extent to which care varies by race, ethnicity, or insurance status within and across hospitals.
  • A project to investigate State-level Effects of Racial and Ethnic Characteristics on Access to Care, using the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Survey to identify state-based disparities in access to preventive services.
