Accommodations
Start the school day with less demanding academic tasks
Example:
Switch more difficult content or courses to later in the school day.
Allow the student specified "rest" times to avoid sleeping during instruction
Example:
Allow "rest breaks" for 5-15 minutes in the morning and afternoon if needed after academic intervals.
Behavioral Planning
Start the school day later based on the student's sleep-wake cycle
Example:
Allow the student to arrive and stay later to complete academic work.
