Biography
Dr. Asnis received his BA from Harvard in 1994 and his MD with Honors in Research from Cornell University Medical School in 1999. After completing an internship in general surgery at the New York Presbyterian Hospital, he completed his orthopaedic residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. Dr. Asnis completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Asnis is a member of the MGH Sports Medicine Service and is an Instructor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School. He is a team physician for the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, and New England Revolution. He serves as the Head Team Physician for Suffolk University.
Dr. Asnis has a clinical and research interest in knee, shoulder, and hip injuries. He has completed specialized training in hip arthroscopy and is interested in the preservation of the hip joint using this new technology. Dr. Asnis is active with the Bioengineering Laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital where research is performed to optimize treatments for patients with sports related injuries.
