The goals of the MGH Sports Medicine Service are to:

• Provide outstanding medical care in the evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
  
  
• Promote the benefits of exercise and athletics to all.
  
  
• Teach physicians, fellows, residents, medical students and others in the diagnosis and management of athletic injuries.
  
  
• Seek ways to prevent injuries in athletics.
  
  
• Develop better ways to treat sports injuries.
  
  
• Conduct research in biomechanics and biology of musculoskeletal tissues.
