Biography

Michael M. Reinold, PT, DPT, ATC, CSCS is currently a Senior Physical Therapist at MGH Sports Physical Therapy and the Assistant Athletic Trainer with the Boston Red Sox in Boston, MA. Dr. Reinold received his undergraduate BS degree in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the MGH Institute of Health Professions, both in Boston. He has also completed a post-professional sports physical therapy fellowship program at HealthSouth and the American Sports Medicine Institute under the direction of Kevin E. Wilk, PT, James R. Andrews, MD, and Glenn S. Fleisig, PhD, and is a member of the American Sports Medicine Fellowship Society. Dr. Reinold serves as adjunct faculty in the physical therapy programs at both South Alabama University in Mobile, AL and Northeastern University in Boston, MA.

Dr. Reinold has published numerous journal articles and book chapters related to sports medicine. He is on the review board of several journals including The Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy (JOSPT) and has recently served as the guest editor of a special issue of JOSPT on articular cartilage and meniscal injuries. Dr. Reinold participates in a wide variety of clinical and biomechanical research and has

Dr. Reinold is actively lecturing at various seminars and national meetings throughout the country and was awarded the New Horizons Award in 2004 and the Excellence in Research Award from the Sports Physical Therapy Section of the American Physical Therapy Association in 2002.

Prior to joining MGH Dr. Reinold was the Facility Director and Coordinator of Rehabilitative Research at Champion Sports Medicine and the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, AL.
