Michael Barry, MD
the Center’s Medical Director, is Chief of the General Medicine Unit and Director of the Health Services Research Program at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a practicing member of the Internal Medicine Associates at MGH. Dr. Barry is currently the President of the Society of General Internal Medicine, and has been Director of the MGH Primary Care Program, President for the Society for Medical Decision-Making, and Chair of the Eastern Section of the American Federation for Clinical Research. Dr. Barry has done extensive research in allowing patients with prostate disease to play a greater role in decisions about their medical treatment.
