Stoeckle Center Seminars

Each month the Stoeckle Center holds an educational seminar, made possible by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Green, that cover a broad range of issues relating to primary care. The seminars are geared towards sharing new methods and techniques that can be used to improve patients' experience of care as well as enhance the professional lives of current and future generations of primary care practitioners. We do this by bringing innovative ideas and best practices from within MGH and around the country to the MGH primary care community through the monthly presentations and discussions.

Some of the seminar topics focus on adult general internal medicine, others focus on pediatrics/adolescence, but most of them are applicable to primary care practices serving all age groups. We also do our best to involve patients and/or families as faculty.

The Stoeckle Center Seminars are usually held on the 4th Friday of each month in the Yawkey Building, Doerr Conference Room 10660. Breakfast begins at 7:30 AM, and the presentation and discussion run from 7:45-9:00 AM. The seminars are videotaped and can be made available to anyone upon request by contacting the Stoeckle Center.

Today, primary care practitioners are providing more complex care in an increasingly busy environment. This severely limits their time and opportunity to educate patients about their health and chronic illnesses, as well as discuss other issues like prevention and wellness measures - a situation that is frustrating to both practitioners and patients alike.
