The Center for Clinical Effectiveness in Surgery (CCCES)
The CCCES is an academic and service program established by the Department of Surgery to encourage and support surgical outcomes research at MGH. At the core of the CCCES is a solid foundation of accurate and reliable data captured by research nurses throughout the continuum of surgical care. The CCCES infrastructure can be leveraged in several ways including:
- Advancing the academic careers of surgeons, residents and nurses
- Assisting surgeons in making informed decisions about the quality of care delivered
- Determining areas of focus for performance improvement efforts
- Educating surgeons and residents about surgical outcomes and quality of care
- Informing third parties of the quality of care/influencing health care policy
