About the Hyperhidrosis Surgery Service at Massachusetts General Hospital
At the Massachusetts General Hospital Hyperhidrosis Surgery Service, we employ a minimally invasive surgical approach to the management of hyperhidrosis for appropriate patients. Our surgical approach (thoracoscopic thoracic sympathectomy) effectively eliminates palmar hyperhidrosis, and can help decrease axillary hyperhidrosis (armpit perspiration), as well.
Our hyperhidrosis surgery team is led by board-certified thoracic surgeons who have extensive experience in the use of minimally invasive techniques and are well recognized as leaders in the field of thoracic surgery and hyperhidrosis research and treatment.
Hyperhidrosis Practice Overview
Massachusetts General Hospital has been a leader in the diagnosis and treatment of hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) in the New England area for more than five years. Our commitment to this disorder is evident in our approach to hyperhidrosis. Our hypherhidrosis surgical approach has evolved to decrease the incision size, reduce post-operative recovery time, and hasten return to full activity.
