Encouraging dialogue

“See something, say something” was one of the many takeaways from an address by Thor Sundt, MD, chief of Cardiac Surgery, during Patient Safety Awareness Week at the MGH from March 13-19. Sundt’s presentation on “The Power of Teamwork” encouraged greater dialogue among all who are involved in patient care to try to prevent medical errors. The talk was followed by a panel discussion featuring May Pian-Smith, MD, Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine quality chair, and Steven Yule, PhD, of Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
