Our surgical team performs a complete range of thoracic surgical procedures, making Mass General a major referral center for complex thoracic problems and complications following other surgical procedures. The Division of Thoracic Surgery has a renowned international reputation and was home to the “father of tracheal surgery,” Hermes Grillo, M.D., for more than 50 years. Many of the U.S. leaders in the field of thoracic surgery have trained at Mass General.
