The Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship is a collaborative program between Massachusetts General Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center designed to train leaders in academic pulmonary and critical care medicine.
The usual duration of the fellowship is four years, but support for additional years is available for promising young investigators interested in biomedical research careers. Four fellows are accepted into the first year through the Uniform Acceptance Date Matching Program, sponsored by the American Thoracic Society and the American College of Chest Physicians. These fellows are also Harvard pulmonary fellows and rotate as clinician trainees to the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Research projects can be arranged anywhere in the Harvard system.
Upon completion of the clinical and research years, fellows will have the requisite skills, publications and curriculum vitae to launch an outstanding career as a basic science investigator, clinician-scientist or as a clinician-educator anywhere in the world.
