Since
1914, an important mission of the MGH Urology Department has been the training
of resident physicians. Many who have trained here have become international
leaders in the field of urology.
Our training involves a very extensive operative experience, which covers all domains and techniques in urology including laparoscopic surgery, endourology and open surgery. A structured didactic educational program assures that all domains of urology are taught. The chief of service and the faculty are committed to the educational effort and spend many hours in and out of the operating room with individual trainees. Both clinical care and research training are included in the program.
The
dedicated research experience distinguishes this program from many others.
Training at the MGH is an exceptional opportunity for the physician to become
well versed in all aspects of urologic care and to develop a special expertise
in an area of investigation.
