Nationally and internationally recognized physicians from seven disciplines collaborate to provide patients with the most advanced treatment options for vascular conditions.
Referring Patients to the Vascular Center This team approach, combined with our tradition, makes the Vascular Center a great choice for vascular care. We offer patients the following:
Convenient Location
For your patients’ convenience, we have opened a new ambulatory facility, conveniently located off Route 128 in Waltham. MGH vascular specialists will see patients in Boston or Waltham. To ensure that all pertinent information is available to caregivers at both locations, we have implemented advanced patient information and clinical imaging management systems.
On-Site Imaging at Our Boston and Waltham Sites
In addition to the full suite of services offered in Boston, noninvasive imaging studies are performed at the Waltham campus. These include ankle brachial index (ABI), pulse volume recording (PVR), and duplex ultrasound. CT, CTA, MR and MRA are also available in Waltham at Mass General West Imaging. Angiography will continue to be offered at the hospital’s Boston campus.
Access to Clinical Trials
Massachusetts General Hospital’s long history of leadership in clinical investigation, as well as the concentration of multidisciplinary expertise in the Vascular Center, will ensure that patients have access to the broadest spectrum of investigational devices and drugs.
Data Registry
The opportunity for patients to participate in this unique effort to create a longitudinal record of vascular disease will be invaluable in advancing our understanding of these conditions and identifying which treatments/protocols are most appropriate for which patients.
Community Education and Screening
It is important that patients learn to recognize whether they are at risk for vascular disease, when they are experiencing symptoms, and when to seek appropriate medical care. Towards that end, we offer community education and community-based screening programs for patients with risk factors. Once identified, those patients will have access to the most appropriate care.
