Ascending Aneurysm Repair with an Interposition Tube Graft
Physicians perfom an aneurysm repair using an interposition tube graft when the aneurysm involves the ascending thoracic aorta, but the aortic root is not enlarged, and the aortic valve anatomy is normal.

When the aneurysm involves the ascending throacic aorta, but the aortic root is not enlarged and the aortic valve anatomy is normal, physicians at the Thoracic Aortic Center perfom an aneurysm repair using an interposition tube graft.
Much like replacing a piece pipe, physicians cut out the enlarged portion of the ascending aorta and replace it with an artificial tube made of a special fabric called Dacron® or Gor-tex®. The artificial tube should last a lifetime.
