The Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care, New England’s largest ambulatory care center, provides a new home for the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Fertility Center. The only clinical service located on the 10th floor of the new building, the MGH Fertility Center provides the utmost in privacy for couples seeking fertility care. Encompassing 10,254 square feet, the modern and spacious facilities were designed exclusively for fertility and IVF treatment. |
The Yawkey Center features include:
- A specially designed operating and procedure room with complete anesthetic services
- An ultramodern recovery room capable of managing five patients simultaneously
- A state-of-the-art Embryology Laboratories with the latest air handling equipment and incubators
- A modern andrology lab for the full array of semen preparation, analysis, and cryopreservation

The Massachusetts General Hospital Fertility Center’s embryology and andrology laboratories are the most advanced facilities available today. With a staff of six embryologists, all current technologies can be performed in these laboratories, which encompasses 3,362 square feet. The laboratories include:
- 16 incubators
- 5 microscopic centers
- 2 micromanipulation tables with microscopes
- 6 cryostorage tanks with remote alarm systems for embryos and sperm
- A self-contained isolette for techniques performed outside of incubators
- A computerized semen analyzer
- A dedicated room for preimplantation genetic diagnosis
