When you are cared for at the Massachusetts General Hospital Fertility Center, you're cared for by a team of experts - from doctors to nurses, social workers, embryologists, scientific staff and support staff. While your doctor is the head of your team, you stay in control and are included in every decision along the way.
We function as a team at the Massachusetts General Hospital Fertility Center, and you will have a team of clinicians managing your care. You will work closely with our doctors, nurses, embryologist and andrologist. Your team will meet daily to discuss your progress and determine any needed changes. While your doctor is the head of your team, you are in control and included in every decision along the way.
We recognize that you may involve us in one of the most intimate aspects of your life, so we have purposely kept our center small so you will feel at ease with the people responsible for your care. Our nurses are respected as educators in the classroom and with the patient. One of them will be with you throughout the duration of your care, during exams, in the operating room and in the recovery room. Daily, you will see them or talk with them on the telephone, which will keep you apprised of your progress and serve to answer all questions you may have.
All of your procedures are done right on our center. We have our own sign-in center, waiting room, monitoring equipment, laboratory, operating room and recovery room. You can count on the utmost in comfort, convenience and confidentiality.
We realize that you have a relationship with your own gynecologist and primary care physician. With your permission, we will provide them with timely information so that when you are discharged from our center, you are assured continuity of care.
