Mass General Hospital is conveniently located on public transportation. Boston's subway system, known as the "T," is run by the MBTA (Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority).

The nearest T stop to the hospital is the Charles Street/MGH station, which is on the Red Line. The Charles Street/MGH station is wheelchair accessible. Passengers can take the elevator from the station platform to the street level.

Directions to the Charles Street/MGH Station From Central and South Boston

  • Take the Alewife-bound (outbound) Red Line train to Charles Street/MGH Station
  • Follow the exit signs to Mass General
  • Follow Cambridge Street east one block
  • Make a left (north) onto No. Grove Street
  • The main entrance is straight ahead

Directions to the Charles Street/MGH Station From Cambridge

  • Take either the Ashmont-bound or Braintree-bound (inbound) Red Line train to Charles Street/MGH Station
  • Follow the exit signs to Mass General
  • Follow Cambridge Street east one block
  • Make a left (north) onto No. Grove Street
  • The main entrance is straight ahead

Mass General can also be reached from the Orange and Green Lines. The nearest stop is North Station. A free Partners shuttle bus runs between Mass General and North Station.
