Mass General Hospital Patient Care is at the center of the Mass General community. MGH understands that patient care and service is not limited to its current patients. Patient care begins with new patients and extends to the families and loved ones of those in the care of Mass General. MGH has a dedicated staff of doctors, nurses and volunteers prepared to assist patients and their families during their stay at Mass General. MGH also has a Patient Advocacy Program. Patient advocates are available through patient advocacy programs to help patients whenever they have a question regarding hospital procedures or services. Prior to coming to the hospital you can learn about patient care, patient rights, safety, confidentiality and other patient information in our online Patient Handbook. Patient Assistance Programs are available through the MGH Department of Social Services. The patient assistance programs provide help to patients regarding how to deal with crisis situations, cope with illness, establish doctor-patient communication, etc. Family Support Groups are also offered for the families of our patients. Patient support groups and information resources are available to answer questions regarding appointments, directions, accommodations and transportation. |
