Disorders & Diseases

Common laryngeal voice (voice box) disorders that are managed at the Center include:

  • Vocal-cord paralysis/paresis (vocal-cord weakness)
  • Benign vocal cord lesions including nodules (singer’s nodes), polyps, cysts, papillomatosis, and granulomas
  • Laryngeal (throat) cancer and precancerous dysplasia
  • Spasmodic dysphonia and other neurological diseases that effect voice production including Parkinson’s Disease
  • Chronic hoarseness/dysphonia
  • Laryngeal trauma, and
  • Functional (non-organic/psychogenic) voice disorders
