Disorders & Diseases
Common laryngeal voice (voice box) disorders that are managed at the Center include:
- Vocal-cord paralysis/paresis (vocal-cord weakness)
- Benign vocal cord lesions including nodules (singer’s nodes), polyps, cysts, papillomatosis, and granulomas
- Laryngeal (throat) cancer and precancerous dysplasia
- Spasmodic dysphonia and other neurological diseases that effect voice production including Parkinson’s Disease
- Chronic hoarseness/dysphonia
- Laryngeal trauma, and
- Functional (non-organic/psychogenic) voice disorders
