Marie Jetté is currently a Clinical Fellow in speech-language pathology at the Center for Laryngeal Surgery and Voice Rehabilitation at the Massachusetts General Hospital. In addition to developing skills as a speech-language pathologist with professional supervision from the Voice Center’s experienced vocal pathologists, Ms. Jetté is actively involved in scientific research. Her clinical responsibilities include conducting acoustic and aerodynamic analysis of voice production, in addition to laryngeal endoscopy for vocal tract visualization. She provides voice therapy for a wide array of adult voice disorders, including those of organic, functional, and neurogenic etiology. Other areas of clinical development include management of laryngectomy patients with tracheoesophageal puncture and training of alaryngeal speech. Ms. Jetté is a certified clinician of the Lee Silverman Voice Therapy program, which focuses on improving functional communication for individuals with Parkinson Disease.

Ms. Jetté received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Sciences and Linguistics from the University of British Columbia (Vancouver, B.C., Canada) in 2003 and her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the MGH Institute of Health Professions (Boston, MA) in 2006. Prior to joining the Voice Center as a full-time clinician, Ms. Jetté completed her Master’s thesis under the supervision of Dr. Hillman. Her Master’s thesis focused on the development of a new clinical tool for objectively measuring vocal quality severity, and she is currently involved in an extension of this research. Other research interests include the development of speech and language perception in infants and the use of biofeedback such as electropalatography and ultrasound for habilitation of the deaf and hard-of-hearing. Ms. Jetté has been a teaching assistant for the graduate level course in physiology, acoustics, and perception of speech at the MGH Institute of Health Professions since 2005. She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
