Oxidative stress related damage to the cells particularly on the modification and induction of DNA which could lead to mutation Role of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the generation of oxidative stress mediated by photosensitization and ionizing radiation. Research is aimed also to shed light on the mechanism of bystander effect caused by radiation and photosensitization and to increase the efficacy of the photodynamic and radiation treatment.
