(30 cu yd per truck load) at and estimated weight of 219,450 tons (1.65
tons/cu yd)
The clay removed was used to cap of a landfill out in western MA.

The Granite blocks at the Charles Street Jail were
quarried from the Quincy Quarries in Quincy MA
Number of Stones @ Charles Street Jail: 600 Stones
Average weight of stones 7’x1’x1’=1400 lbs (200 lb/ft)
Total weight of Stones used: 840,000 Lbs or 4200 Tons
At the beginning of construction for the Yawkey
Center there were only 12 people working on the project. Currently
there are 365people working on site(24
women & 342 men) equating into an estimated 2865man
hours of labor per week.
Slurry wall: 1000’ Linear/Feet x 100’00” high = 100,000 SF.
Number of Panels: 45
Cubic Yards of Concrete used at Slurry wall: 300 cu/yd per panel x 45 panels
= 13,500 cuyd of concrete.
