Q: What will happen to the space left by services after they move into the Yawkey Building?
A:
Most of the space to be vacated is needed to relocate units out of Tilton, Clinics and Vincent buildings, so they can be demolished to make way for a second new building. At the same time, MGH will sponsor some additional relocations to consolidate ambulatory care units remaining on campus, as resources permit. Hospital leadership may also decide to allocate some space to meet key initiatives coming out of the current Strategic Planning process.

Q: When will the building be open?
A: The building will be open in Fall 2004.

Q: Will there be parking availalbe at the Yawkey Center?
A:
The underground garage of the Yawkey Center will hold a total of 700 parking spaces, of which 580 spaces will be available for MGH patients ONLY (i.e., no staff parking). The other 120 spaces is for hotel use only. The garage will be open at the same time as the building opening, which is scheduled for this October.

Q: Will there be a cafeteria in the Yawkey Center?
A: Yes, the Yawkey building will have a cafe on the first floor lobby level, as well as a coffee shop where patients, families, and staff can enjoy a selected variety of food and beverages.

Q: What is the street address for the Yawkey Center?
A: The address for the Yawkey Center will remain the same as the Main Hospital: 55 Fruit Street. The mailcode is YAW.

Q: Is there valet service at Yawkey?
A: The Yawkey valet service is located at the Yawkey front door on Yawkey Way between the Fruit Street garage and the Yawkey building. The valet cost is $9.00 and that includes the parking fee.
