ASSISTANT SITE DIRECTOR

Job Description

YouthCare is looking for bright, experienced, flexible, and well-organized Assistant Site Directors to help children and staff members have a fun and successful summer experience! The Assistant Site Director is part of a 3-4 person team working closely with the Site Director to manage the day-to-day operations of the summer site, including administrative, clinical, and programmatic aspects. Responsibilities include to:

  • Support 2-3 groups of approximately 6 children each and their staff.
    • Provide hands-on support during the camp day.
    • Provide regular supervision to the staff.
    • Supervise the planning and implementation of daily group meetings presenting pragmatic skills, in collaboration with other camp staff.
    • Assist staff with developing and implementing interventions (social stories, behavior support plans, etc.)
    • Take part in communication with families, including attending case conferences during the summer.
  • Attend field trips with assigned groups.
  • Support collaboration and team work among staff and help problem-solve.
  • Develop connections with children and staff throughout assigned site, in order to provide support as needed throughout the site.
  • Assist with pre-camp and ongoing staff training.  Option to lead parts of training.

This is a 40 hour per week paid position for 8 weeks, including orientation and training.

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills.

  • Supervisory experience.

  • Maturity and ability to work at all levels of an organization.

  • Experience working with children/youth with autism spectrum disorders.

  • Experience leading and managing groups of children or adolescents.

  • Master's degree in related field, or Bachelor's degree with significant related experience.

  • Desire to help staff and children/youth succeed and have fun!

We are accepting applications for Assistant Site Directors for Summer Camp at Charlestown and Westwood. Assistant Site Directors at the Charlestown site who are also lifeguards (or willing to be trained) may receive additional compensation.
