The Pain Management Center at Massachusetts General Hospital is committed to improving the quality of life for individuals who suffer from chronic pain. We work in partnership with referring physicians to provide care for patients with chronic or acute pain. Our pain specialists utilize leading-edge technology and the latest discoveries in research to provide optimal care and help patients find the relief they need.

Full Spectrum of Pain Services
The Pain Management Center offers a full range of services, including evaluation, diagnosis, therapy, anesthesia-based procedures and image-guided interventions for treatment of pain and pain rehabilitation. We offer comprehensive interventional spine services, including:
- Diagnostic discography
- Epidural injections of steroids
- Facet injections
- Intrathecal drug delivery
- Percutaneous disc decompression
- Radiofrequency treatment
- Spinal cord stimulation
We offer complete coordination of patient care, including medication management, physical therapy and behavioral management. In addition to our pain specialists, our center provides access to a clinical psychologist who focuses on chronic pain assessment, chronic opioid therapy screening and cognitive behavioral therapies.
Many chronic pain conditions may require medication consultations. We provide this consultation service to the patient's primary provider, working collaboratively to optimize care. Our goal is to assume comprehensive patient management during the early treatment of patients with chronic pain, and coordinate long-term care with each patient's primary care provider.
