Dr. Parikh is an expert in Gastrointestinal Cancers with a focus on Young Adults with Colorectal Cancer and also sees patients with Pancreatic Cancer. She sits on the NCCN guidelines committee for Colorectal Cancer. She leads many of the clinical trials in the GI oncology program for patients with Colorectal and Pancreatic Cancer and brings novel agents into the clinic. She works closely with several labs including the Corcoran and Ting labs at the MGH Cancer Center who study colorectal and pancreatic cancers. She also leads the liquid biopsy efforts for the GI Oncology group and is an international expert in liquid biopsies helping to develop these tools in the setting of residual disease after curative intent surgeries, to understand response to treatment as well as to understand drug resistance. Though she is a clinical translational researcher, she also has a passion and background in cancer care in low and middle-incomes countries and does work that supports access, equity and education in LMICs.
