Dr. Shabin is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in pediatric orthopedic surgery. She treats children with a wide range of orthopedic conditions and injuries including scoliosis, kyphosis, hip dysplasia, upper and lower extremity fractures, cerebral palsy, limb abnormalities, clubfoot and sports injuries. She sees patients at the Children's Orthopedic clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital and at Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
Dr. Shabin received her undergraduate degree in human physiology from Boston University. Prior to attending medical school, she spent two years in the Boston University orthopedic research laboratory where she completed a thesis on the role of specific pluripotent genes in fracture healing. She earned her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. She completed residency training in orthopedic surgery at the Tufts Affiliated Hospitals Orthopedic Residency Program in Boston, MA followed by fellowship training in pediatric orthopedic surgery at New York University Langone Health.
Prior to joining the pediatric orthopedic team at Mass General, she practiced at Tufts Medical Center/Tufts Children's Hospital where she served as an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery and teaching faculty for the Tufts Affiliated Hospitals Orthopedic Residency Program.
Dr. Shabin is actively involved in didactic and clinical teaching of medical students, residents and fellows. She has published many peer-reviewed articles and presented her research at various medical conferences. In her free time, Dr. Shabin enjoys exercising, gardening and spending time with her husband and their young daughters.

Dr. Shabin's research interests include the treatment and outcomes of surgically and non-surgically treated developmental dysplasia of the hip, pediatric fractures and scoliosis. Additionally, she has studied geographic differences in healthcare access and how this affects patient outcomes and diagnosis of pediatric orthopedic conditions.
