Get Involved
The MGH Gun Violence Prevention Center focuses on reducing injuries and deaths related to firearms and promoting safety in the home and in the community through clinical care and education, community engagement and research.
The MGH Gun Violence Prevention Center is a multidisciplinary center dedicated to preventing firearm-related violence and promoting safety in the homes and communities of the patients we serve through education, community engagement and research.
In 2016 a small group of health care professionals from across disciplines around the hospital came together to start conversations about addressing gun violence in America as the public health crisis that it is. What started as monthly meetings of a small group soon grew into a large coalition of health care professionals and community organizations, collaborating across the region. In 2019, with support from Mass General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, the MGH Gun Violence Prevention Center was launched.
