About Stephanie DeLuca, MD

Dr. Stephanie DeLuca is a physiatrist who specializes in non-surgical treatment of sports injuries with a particular focus on pediatric/adolescent sports medicine. Believing strongly in a collaborate approach, Dr. DeLuca frequently partners with a multidisciplinary team – including coaches, athletic trainers, physical therapists, surgeons, and other health professionals. This integrated approach ensures athletes receive comprehensive care, facilitating a swift and safe return to the sports they love. She prioritizes injury prevention, effective treatment and peak performance optimization for her patients.

Dr. DeLuca received her bachelor's degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from Binghamton University and her master's degree in Basic Medical Sciences and medical degree at New York Medical College. During her collegiate education, she competed on Binghamton University’s Division I women’s softball team and was a team captain during her senior year. She completed her Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) residency at Harvard Medical School/Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, where she served as chief resident. Following residency, she completed a fellowship in PM&R Sports Medicine at Harvard/Spaulding.

Dr. DeLuca is board-certified in both PM&R and Sports Medicine. She is a clinical instructor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Harvard Medical School.

Research

Dr. DeLuca's clinical and research interests include sports and overuse injuries with an emphasis on the impact of anatomy and biomechanics in pediatric, adolescent and young adult athletes. Additionally, she is interested in sideline sports coverage, equity in sports, injury prevention, sports specialization and ultrasound applications for the pediatric/adolescent athlete.
