Welcome to Massachusetts General Hospital Spiritual Care.
As partners in healing, Mass General Spiritual Care Providers serve patients, families, visitors and staff through comfort, encouragement and prayer. We embrace life-long learning, respect the dignity and worth of every person and honor the sacredness of the human spirit.
We represent different faith traditions, including Roman Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Greek Orthodox, Buddhist, Unitarian Universalist and Humanist. We are available to people of all faith traditions, with various beliefs, as well as those of no religious affiliation.
We are members of the healthcare team and collaborate on providing exceptional care to our patients, which includes charting in the patients’ records. We also serve as liaisons, connecting members of the healthcare team, patients and their loved ones, and, if requested, clergy or other religious leaders in the community. Spiritual Care services are free, private and confidential.
