CCRP celebrates a decade of health and wellness with the MGH

A ZEAL FOR ZUMBA: Katchar leads the mini-zumba class on July 19.

During the last decade, thousands of MGH employees have worked out at the Clubs at Charles River Park (CCRP) as members, guests or participants in programs like Be Fit. On July 19, the CCRP celebrated the 10th anniversary of its affiliation with the hospital during a daylong open house for MGH and local community members. The CCRP is a health club featuring the latest fitness equipment, indoor and outdoor pools, exercise classes, personal training and many other services. It was purchased by the MGH in 2001.

“It’s wonderful to see how much we’ve progressed over the last 10 years,” says Cliff Seeto, general manager of the CCRP. “We’re hoping to do even more in the next 10.”

The highlight of the anniversary event was a high-energy, mini-zumba class on the outdoor pool deck led by instructor Kia Katchar, PhD, of the Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology Division. Following the class, CCRP staff and guests gathered to enjoy birthday cake, one of several treats offered as part of the celebration. Tours, as well as junior and master’s swim sessions, also were available throughout the day. More than 100 guests participated in the open house festivities.

“Through the CCRP, the MGH is able to offer employees access to high-quality health and wellness services,” says Jeff Davis, senior vice president for Human Resources. “We are delighted to celebrate this special anniversary.” For more information about the CCRP, visit
