William Curry, MD, of the Department of Surgery, received the 2012 Harvard Catalyst Program for Faculty Development and Diversity Faculty Fellowship, a two-year, nondegree program for junior faculty designed to support clinical research and aid in career development.

Kelsey McCarty, senior operations manager of Quality and Safety in the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine, was honored with a 2012 European Case Clearing House Award in the New Case Writer category for her submission, “Massachusetts General Hospital’s Pre-Admission Testing Area (PATA).” The case study described the conditions of the busy outpatient clinic prior to process improvement efforts led by MGH clinicians and administrative staff and MIT students.

Gaurdia Banister, RN, PhD, executive director of  The Institute for Patient Care, will be honored in June with the 2012 Mary Mahoney Award from the American Nurses Association, bestowed biennially to a nurse who has made exceptional contributions to increasing opportunities for minorities in the nursing profession.
