Ambulatory Practice of the Future
Jane Maffie-Lee is a family nurse practitioner and the clinical program director of the Ambulatory Practice of the Future (APF). She joined this practice after 23 years as the chief operating officer and family nurse practitioner at Manet Community Health Center located in Quincy and Hull, MA. Prior to that, Jane worked at Massachusetts General Hospital in the Ambulatory Care Department as the medical specialties clinic nurse, at Bunker Hill Community Health Center and within various other units at Mass General, including her first nursing position in the Burn Unit.
Jane completed her undergraduate education in nursing receiving her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Iowa. She attended Boston University getting her Master of Science in nursing with a specialty in community health. She became a board certified family nurse practitioner after receiving her Certificate of Advanced Practice from Simmons College. In addition, she is a board certified nurse coach through the American Holistic Nurse Corporation.
She is passionate about helping patients get engaged and understand their health care, creating a culture in the workplace that is supportive of staff development, precepting nurse practitioner students, and participating on committees to support the mission of Mass General and the APF. She is energized by finding new and exciting ways to connect with patients through information technology and performance improvement to support patient care
Her outside interests include biking, quilting, reading and having time off when she can enjoy the company of her husband and three sons.
