About David Spriggs, MD

Dr Spriggs trained in Medical Oncology at the Dana Farber Cancer Inst.  he has been on the faculties of Harvard University, The University of Wisconsin and The Weill Cornell Medical College  - Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.  At Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) he was the Head of the Division of Sloan Tumor Oncology for more than 10 years and the Associate  Cancer Center Director for Clinical and Translational Research.  He is a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American College of Physicians.  While at the MSK, he was named to Castle Connelly's list of Best Doctors in New York for 20 consecutive years.  His philosophy of treatment relies on long-term, patient-centric relationships and continuity of care throughout the entire course of gynecologic malignancies.  He is specialized in all of the systemic treatment options including including standard treatments, personalized medicine, immunotherapy, other investigational therapy and palliative care.  He works closely with Radiation Oncologists, Gynecologic Oncology surgeons, specialized nurses, social workers and the entire MGH faculty to provide seamless cancer care.

Dr Spriggs has concentrated on the management of Gynecologic Malignancies for nearly 30 years and has over 200 publications on Gynecologic Cancer and Cancer Drug Development.  He leads a research laboratory developing new drug targets for CA125 / MUC16  on the surface of Ovarian and Endometrial cancer.  In addition, he has served in multiple capacities for the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the American Society of Cancer Research (AACR), The National Cancer Center Network (NCCN) and the National Cancer Center (NCI).   He is currently a member of the NCI's Subcommittee  which evaluates designated Cancer Centers across the US and he serves as an Assoc. Editor for the New England Journal of Medicine.
