Images Boutique caters to adult and pediatric cancer patients to help them feel comfortable with their appearance during and after cancer treatment.  Personal services include skin care, cosmetic consultation, wig styling and consultation and breast prostheses fittings.

What is your role at the Cancer Center? My role at the Cancer Center is to offer patients advice and personalized assistance to manage any appearance challenges resulting from treatment. At the Images Boutique, we carry wigs, hats and scarves. I also cut and style wigs and do some transitional hair styling to help minimize the difficult process of losing ones hair. In addition, I am a Certified Mastectomy Fitter. We offer a private comfortable setting with the most current bras and prosthesis available to patients. I am also the State Trainer for the Look Good, Feel Better Program through the American Cancer Society. We conduct monthly workshops for patients receiving treatment.

What influenced your decision to work in healthcare?I was offered the position of Salon Manager in 1994 working for the Ladies Visiting Committee (LVC).  It has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I was able to combine my love for the hair industry, help people, and work with the most amazing talent in Medicine. I work under the LVC Retail shops and we are able to offer patients so many services that were not available years ago.  I consider myself so fortunate to be a part of such a wonderful team. Patients have the best medical care and have the opportunity to deal with side effects in a private comfortable setting.

What is your favorite part of working here?I never feel like I am going to work. My job is rewarding and inspirational.  I have wonderful clients who fight back.  I have to say that the best part of my job is seeing a patient that did not have a good prognosis and then they are still stopping in to say hi many years later. I also love it when a patient thought they were going to hate their wig so much and still ended up wearing it after their hair grew back.
