Nurses set sail

CAPTAINS OF CANCER CARE: A large group of MGH Cancer Center nursing staff from Lunder 9 and 10 set out on the open sea for a summer sail in Marblehead Aug. 7 with the Haverhill-based nonprofit Sailing Heals. The nurses were treated to a day of relaxation featuring a two-hour cruise and a waterside picnic. Since its inception in 2011, Sailing Heals has partnered with local sailors to offer cancer patients and their caregivers a memorable and enjoyable day of healing on the water. “The gift of giving back to patients and caregivers through this experience is extremely generous,” says Barbara Cashavelly, RN, Lunder 9 nursing director. “The nurses will remember this day for a long time. We hope to share this with some of our patients so they may also have this wonderful experience.”
