As an organization dedicated to serving individuals with autism, Aspire is committed to promoting neurodiversity and inclusion across settings. We provide an array of consultation and support services designed to educate and broaden the understanding of the unique strengths and needs of this population.
Aspire has more than 30 years’ experience providing consultation and professional development services in the areas of social competency, neurodiversity, accessibility and inclusion, and individual growth, particularly as they relate to individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Our services include options for individuals, classrooms and districts, program design, transition planning curriculum, inclusion support, and skill-building in the areas of self-awareness, stress-management, and social competency. Our clients include clinicians, professionals in educational settings, parents and caregivers.
School Consultation Services
K-12 school systems, special education teams, colleges/universities, agencies and clinicians all strive to meet the diverse and complex needs of individuals with autism spectrum disorder or a related profile. Aspire collaborates closely with and supports clients to design, implement and develop effective interventions, programs and services. Our highly experienced consultants incorporate a variety of disciplines, including speech and language pathology, occupational therapy, special education, neuroscience and psychology, to support the unique needs and goals of each organization.
Aspire staff have written psychoeducational curriculum for use in public and private educational settings, specifically targeting self-awareness and executive functioning. Aspire’s self-awareness curriculum, The Science of Me™, is a comprehensive instruction package that includes both tangible curricula and training educators to deliver social emotional content designed to help students (and teachers) accurately understand neurodiversity in themselves and others.
Consultations with K-12 schools involve a team-based approach centering on academics, socialization, emotional well-being, behavior, and communication for individual students and/or classrooms. Our consultation services often involve ongoing support throughout the academic year. Examples of Aspire school consultation services are listed below.
- Special Education program design, including inclusion practices
- Designing and implementing accommodations and modifications to help students make effective progress
- Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to identify ‘just right’ goals and data collection methods
- Implementing positive skill-building techniques to promote generalization
- Implementing The Science of Me™ curriculum.
Aspire supports individuals and institutions beyond K-12 by providing consultation services to colleges, universities, and specialized programs. Our consultants offer trainings, specifically for the higher education/post-secondary landscape, that are designed to help institutions maintain and expand disability services and classroom inclusion practices. Aspire helps post-secondary programs stay current in their neurodiversity inclusion practices related to both academic and cultural access, in partnership with student and disability services.
