MGHfC and Me: As difficult as this profession (and training) may sometimes be, it is also the most rewarding thing I’ve ever had the chance to do. What makes it all even better is that at MGHfC, I go to work every day to train with such knowledgeable and approachable attendings, learn from an incredible and diverse patient population, work with amazing nurses and staff, many of whom have become close friends, and be inspired daily by my co-residents. As a program, I was drawn to MGHfC for the opportunity to train at one of America’s greatest hospitals, allowing me some of the best access to resources for my patients, while at the same time balancing autonomy and flexibility in different community and clinic sites. After a year at MGH, these expectations have not only been met, but surpassed, and I’m looking forward to what other opportunities arise the memories I’ll make in my next 2 years here!
I live in Cambridge with my husband, with whom I couples matched (Peds, Radiology) as well as our 10-year old Australian Shepherd, Anna, and our 6-month old Australian Shepherd puppy, Finn. (Yes, we lost our minds and got a puppy, in the middle of intern year!) If you have any questions about the couples match, or about having a pet(s) in residency, or want to know more about the program in general, feel free to reach out! I’ve loved getting to explore Boston and I’m looking forward to getting to know the greater New England area. I love that I have still had the time to focus on my own well-being- to continue to work out, plan some trips, binge watch my favorite shows, and hang out with my co-residents (read: friends!)
Fun Fact: I have two BEAUTIFUL Australian Shepards! Also, happy to talk about couples matching!
