Letter from the Chief

The Division of Global Health at MassGeneral Hospital for Children was founded in March 2010 and includes eleven faculty members, senior research fellows and staff members. Our primary goal is to build and foster international partnerships for interdisciplinary research, education and service to reduce health disparities and achieve optimal health for children and adolescents in resource-limited settings of the developing world.

Our multidisciplinary teams focus on the most important challenges in pediatric global health. We have two main goals:

  1. Conducting research in implementation science and finding ways to make evidence based health care available to the world’s children and
  2. Developing and testing innovative technology to improve the quality of care provided to the world’s children.

Our faculty and staff work on innovative solutions to prematurity, birth asphyxia, neonatal sepsis, childhood pneumonia, diarrhea, and HIV in Africa, Asia, Central and South America.

We must make a difference and provide a voice for the children and adolescents who do not have one.
