About Eliot Heher, MD

Eliot Heher, MD became the Medical Director of the Kidney Transplant Program on April 1, 2014.  Eliot has been a member of the Massachusetts General Hospital Division of Nephrology since 2007.   He attended Harvard College and Harvard Medical School.  He was a medical resident on the Osler Medical Service at Johns Hopkins Hospital and a nephrology fellow in the combined program of Massachusetts General Hospital and the Brigham & Women's Hospital.   In addition, Eliot has been a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania and served as a Senior Fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics.   Eliot spent a portion of his career working in the private sector, and brings these experiences to bear in his work as Medical Director of Kidney Transplant.  He was a Medical Director of Aetna-U.S. Healthcare, Inc.  Subsequently he was the co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of HTH Worldwide, Inc., a healthcare technology and insurance company based in Radnor, Pennsylvania.  Eliot's interests include clinical transplantation and quality and process optimization in transplant services.
