About Eva Chittenden, MD
Eva Chittenden, MD is a general internist and is the Director of Educational Programs in the MGH Division of Palliative Care & Geriatric Medicine, which she joined in 2008. Prior, she was Associate Director of the Palliative Care Service at the University of California, San Francisco, where she developed educational programs for medical students, residents and nurse practitioners. Prior to UCSF, she worked for two years on the Navajo Reservation in northern Arizona and for two years at Alameda County Medical Center, an inner city public hospital in Oakland, California. She is originally from New York City, and did her medical training and residency at Harvard Medical School and Boston's Beth Israel Hospital.
"I love the mix of medical, emotional, and spiritual issues that come up when working with people and families struggling with life-threatening illness. I work with a wonderful and diverse team of providers, oversee educational programs that encourage learners to see beyond the traditional medical model, and continue to grow myself in both emotional and intellectual domains. What could be more fulfilling?"
