About Jason Fawley, MD

Dr Fawley is an acute care surgeon with expertise in trauma, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care.  This includes the management of trauma patients, as well as those who are acutely ill requiring an emergent operation.  Further, his training in critical care at the University of Michigan gave him the opportunity to manage critically-ill patients and learn advance techniques in critical care including, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and continuous renal replacement therapy.  Further, he has significant clinical interests in managing enterocutaneous fistulas.  He is one of the two surgeons at Massachusetts General Hospital who created and currently staff the Intestinal Rehabilitation Clinic designed to manage patients with intestinal fistulas and short gut syndrome. Even more, Dr Fawley's research interests are directed at improving care and outcomes in patients with enterocutaneous fistulas.
