About Abena Ofori, MD

Abena Ofori, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist, Clinical Associate, and Clinical Instructor in Dermatology for Harvard Medical School. She graduated with high distinction from the University of Michigan and received her medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine. Afterwards, she completed a dermatology residency at the University of Michigan, and served as Chief Resident in her last year.

While at the Washington University School of Medicine, she received the Distinguished Minority Student Scholarship, and the James Henry Yalem Prize in Dermatology.  In 2005, she received the New Investigator's Award from the l'Oreal Institute for Ethnic Hair and Skin Research. 

Dr. Ofori is an author and deputy editor for UptoDate?, which provides evidence-based clinical information regarding dermatological illnesses resource available via the web, desktop/ laptop computer and PDA. In addition, she has published articles in journals such as the Archives of Dermatology and the Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology.

Her clinical interests are general dermatology.
