About Fateh Bazerbachi, MD
Fateh Bazerbachi, MD, received his Baccalauréat of science with the "highest honours with praise" from the Lycée Laïque De Damas, in Damascus, Syria. He received his medical degree from Damascus University and subsequently completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in clinical and translational research methodologies at the University of Toronto/Toronto General Hospital, under the mentorship of Dr. Markus Selzner and Dr. Mark Cattral. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Minnesota and subsequently completed fellowships in gastroenterology and advanced therapeutic endoscopy at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Prior to joining the Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Bazerbachi was appointed as Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine & Science.
Dr. Bazerbachi currently serves on the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) Quality Assurance in Endoscopy Committee (QAEC), as well as on the editorial board for the World Journal of Gastroenterology, Gastroenterology Report, and Frontiers in Medicine: Gastroenterology. He is a frequently invited reviewer for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Video Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Clinical Gastroenterology & Hepatology, American Journal of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Annals of Hepatology, Digestive Diseases and Science, Pancreatology, and others. His primary interests include the management of pancreatic and biliary disease, interventional endoscopy and bariatric endoscopy. Dr. Bazerbachi also served both as a moderator and a reviewer for sessions at Digestive Disease Week, the world’s largest gathering for the fields of gastroenterology, endoscopy, and gastrointestinal surgery.
He is actively involved in research related to Evidence-Based Medicine methodology and applications, novel diagnostic and therapeutic technology in endoscopy and minimally invasive treatments for GI, pancreaticobiliary disorders and bariatric endoscopy.
