About Sahar Zafar, MD, MBBS

Sahar F. Zafar, MD is a neurointensivist and epileptologist. She is the Medical Director for Inpatient Neurology, and is Co-Director of the Center for Value-Based Healthcare and Sciences. Dr. Zafar devotes her clinical time in the MGH Neurosciences ICU, and is part of the Epilepsy Service. She sees patient in the MGH Epilepsy Clinic.

Her clinical interests include acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, traumatic brain injury, subarachnoid hemorrhage, seizures and status epilepticus in critically ill patients. She provides long term follow up care to epilepsy patients, and for patients with brain injuries such as stroke and trauma with seizures . Her research interests include critical care EEG monitoring, anti-seizure medication treatment in patients with brain injuries and seizures, and post ICU discharge health outcomes.
