Research

Dr. Dageforde's research is focused on improving the care of patients after liver transplantation. Her work addresses a critical gap in care for liver transplant recipients with alcohol use disorder through testing an integrated interventional approach with the potential to improve access, equity, and long-term outcomes for these patients. Her research also includes work on wellness after transplantation with a particular focus on maintaining a healthy weight and addressing fatty liver disease after liver transplantation.

Dr. Dageforde also is committed to promoting the pipeline of future Transplant Surgeons both locally and nationally. She is the Chair of the American Society of Transplant Surgeon?s Pipeline committee working to ensure the future community of diverse and talented transplant surgeons by inspiring both pre-medical and medical trainees to pursue transplant surgery as a career. Additionally, her research group, GRaFT, Group for Research, education and the Future of Transplantation, aims to empower students and trainees who are interested in learning more about the field and future of transplantation and organ donation, and equip them with the skills they need to reach their research and academic goals.
