Overview

We are pleased to announce a unique two-year Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) fellowship for learning endoscopic surgical techniques in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS). Fellows will learn under the guidance of Program Director Dr. Joseph McCain.

Curriculum

In the TMJ fellowship, surgeons will develop strong endoscopic surgical skills of the maxillofacial region including:

  • TMJ arthroscopy
  • Salivary gland sialoendoscopy
  • Trauma repair
  • Reconstruction

Clinical Experience

The fellow will gain experience as an attending physician and receive constructive feedback from supervisors. They will be expected to function as a primary attending for Level I Trauma, Elective OMFS, and Resident Case Coverage. Additionally, they will teach residents endoscopy and General OMFS.

Research Experience

The fellow will have multiple research opportunities available in both the Center for Applied Clinical Investigation and the Skeletal Biology Research Center.
